What training programs must a Cinnabon Director of Operations complete?

According to the 2025 Cinnabon FDD, a Director of Operations must complete the Management Training Program and any other training programs that Cinnabon specifies. This requirement applies if a franchisee operates four or more Cinnabon bakeries, at which point Cinnabon may require the franchisee to hire one or more additional Managers to serve as a Director of Operations to provide additional support and supervision to multiple bakeries.

The Management Training Program is designed to equip managers with the skills and knowledge necessary to successfully operate a Cinnabon bakery. The FDD specifies that Cinnabon uses various instructional materials in the Management Training Program, including detailed PowerPoint presentations, specialized training videos, detailed vendor reference materials, the electronic learning management system, and the training manuals. Trainees are required to bring a dedicated tablet that meets the hardware and software specifications necessary to use Cinnabon's electronic learning management system.

Cinnabon retains the right to modify the training program at any time, including the timing, frequency, content, format, and location of training. The FDD also states that any Director of Operations hired after the opening of the bakery must attend and successfully complete the Management Training Program before becoming involved in the operation. Cinnabon also requires that all individuals attending the Management Training Program must be at least 18 years old and must have management experience as a restaurant owner and/or operator in order for them to follow along with the pace of training that this program requires.
