What training program must Cinnabon Managers complete?

Cinnabon Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

us a reasonable training fee that we designate (currently, $250 per trainee per day) if (i) you elect, and we permit you, to bring additional trainees, other than the Required Trainees, to the Management Training Program, (ii) your Required Trainees are trained in separate sessions, or (iii) any of your Required Trainees fail to successfully complete the Management Training Program and re-enroll in the program or are replaced with new trainees that enroll in the program.

Your Required Trainees must successfully complete our Management Training Program at least one week prior to the scheduled opening date of the Bakery. If your opening date changes and your required Trainees completed our Management Training Program more than 120 days before the revised opening date, we may require them to attend up to an additional week of training and may require you to pay our then-current daily training fee for each Required Trainee. All of your Required Trainees must successfully complete our Management Training Program before they may be involved in the operation of your Bakery.

We have the right in our reasonable discretion to determine whether a trainee has successfully completed the Management Training Program. If we conclude that a Required Trainee has failed to successfully complete the Management Training Program, that Required Trainee must re-enroll in our next scheduled applicable Management Training Program, and you must pay the thencurrent training fee. We will have the right to terminate this Agreement if, following the Management Training Program and re-enrollment training (if any), none of the Required Trainees have successfully completed the Management Training Program.

We also recommend that your Primary Contact or at least one of your Managers attend the opening of another franchisee's Bakery before you open your own Bakery. We will work with you to facilitate this experience, if requested, but you will be responsible for all associated costs.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Cinnabon's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, all required trainees, including managers, must successfully complete the Management Training Program before being involved in the operation of the bakery. This training must be completed at least one week prior to the bakery's scheduled opening. If the opening date is delayed by more than 120 days after the training, Cinnabon may require additional training, potentially incurring further costs for the franchisee at a rate of $250 per trainee per day, subject to adjustments.

Cinnabon retains the discretion to determine whether a trainee has successfully completed the Management Training Program. If a trainee fails, they must re-enroll in the next scheduled program, and if no required trainees successfully complete the program after re-enrollment, Cinnabon reserves the right to terminate the franchise agreement. The FDD also states that Cinnabon may require managers to attend the Management Training Program again if they transfer from another business or if operational or performance issues are identified at the franchised business.

For franchisees who collectively operate two or more franchised businesses, Cinnabon may allow them to provide the Management Training Program to their own trainees, provided they have a Certified Training Location and a Certified Training Manager. To become a Certified Training Manager, a manager must complete the Management Training Program at least six months before applying for certification, maintain specific food safety programs, and attend any additional required training. Cinnabon can grant, withhold, or revoke certifications at any time and may change the minimum requirements for certification.

In addition to the Management Training Program, Cinnabon also offers a Primary Contact Training program designed for primary contacts who will not be involved in the day-to-day operations of the bakery. However, if the Primary Contact will be a manager involved in daily operations, they must complete the entire Management Training Program. Cinnabon may modify the Management Training Program for prepared dough and freezer-proofer-oven operations, and the Management Training Program for Co-Branded Bakeries includes the training programs for both brands.
