What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Cinnabon's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee relocates their Streetside Franchised Business, Cinnabon will specify an Area of Protection for the new location. This is done in accordance with Section 5.5 of the franchise agreement, which addresses the relocation of the Franchised Business.
This means that upon relocating, the franchisee's protected territory is not automatically transferred or maintained from the original location. Instead, Cinnabon assesses the new location and determines an appropriate Area of Protection.
As a practical matter, a prospective franchisee should understand that the Area of Protection for a relocated Cinnabon store is subject to Cinnabon's discretion. The franchisee should discuss with Cinnabon what factors are considered when determining the Area of Protection for a relocated store to fully understand their potential market exclusivity at the new site.
