What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Cinnabon's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Cinnabon may make available approved advertising and promotional materials for franchisees to purchase. These materials can include items such as signs, posters and other collateral that Cinnabon has prepared.
Beyond these direct purchases, franchisees are also required to participate in promotional campaigns, potentially incurring costs to buy or lease necessary materials like counter cards, posters, banners, signs, photographs, give-away items, and gift cards. Franchisees must also contribute to an Ad Fund, with contributions ranging from 2.5% to 3% of Net Sales, depending on the bakery location type. These funds are used for advertising and promotion of Cinnabon bakeries.
Additionally, Cinnabon franchisees may be part of an Advertising Cooperative, requiring them to adhere to the co-op's formal agreements and marketing decisions. All advertising and promotional content, whether created by the franchisee or the Advertising Cooperative, needs written approval from Cinnabon before it can be used. Cinnabon retains the right to approve or disapprove any advertising content and the media in which it is used.
