What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Cinnabon's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are generally restricted from selling or supplying goods to third parties beyond direct sales to consumers at their franchised locations. Specifically, a Cinnabon franchisee cannot offer for sale, sell, supply for resale, or deliver any goods to a third party unless they obtain prior written consent from Cinnabon. This restriction ensures that franchisees focus on serving the end consumer at their designated location and maintain the brand's quality control.
Furthermore, the FDD clarifies that franchisees are not allowed to sell any goods through the Internet or any distribution channels other than their franchised business, unless Cinnabon provides written permission. This prevents franchisees from engaging in unauthorized online sales or alternative distribution methods that could potentially undermine the established franchise system. The document also explicitly prohibits operating a ghost kitchen or delivery business under another brand from the franchised business premises.
These limitations are typical in franchising to protect brand integrity, control distribution channels, and ensure consistent customer experience. A prospective Cinnabon franchisee should understand that their sales activities must primarily focus on direct consumer sales within the physical location of their franchise, unless they receive explicit written authorization from Cinnabon to engage in alternative sales methods.
