What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Cinch I.T.'s 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Cinch I.T. may charge franchisees for optional training programs. Specifically, while required training programs (excluding remedial training) come at no cost for attendance, Cinch I.T. retains the right to impose a reasonable fee for any optional training programs they offer. Franchisees are also responsible for covering travel costs and other expenses incurred while attending these training programs, both for themselves and any employees attending with them.

In addition to optional training programs, Cinch I.T. may also provide additional on-site training and coaching if requested by the franchisee, subject to availability. This on-site training is billed at $100 per hour, or the then-current rate, with the franchisee responsible for all associated travel and living expenses. Similarly, if a franchisee fails to meet Cinch I.T.'s Minimum Performance Standards, they must participate in a Performance Improvement Plan that includes remedial training, also billed at $100 per hour or the then-current rate, with the franchisee covering travel and living expenses.

This policy is fairly standard in the franchise industry, where franchisors often provide both required and optional training programs. Required training ensures that franchisees operate according to the franchisor's standards, while optional training allows franchisees to further develop their skills and knowledge. The fact that Cinch I.T. charges for optional and remedial training programs is not unusual, as it helps to offset the costs of providing these programs. However, prospective franchisees should carefully consider these costs when evaluating the overall investment required to open and operate a Cinch I.T. franchise.
