What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Cinch I.T.'s 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the development fee paid will be credited as full payment of the initial franchise fee due for each subsequent franchise to be opened under the Development Agreement. This means that while a Cinch I.T. multi-unit developer pays a development fee upfront for each additional location they plan to open, that fee is later applied to cover the initial franchise fee typically required when opening each of those subsequent locations.

This arrangement benefits the franchisee by essentially pre-paying the initial franchise fees for future locations. It allows for better financial planning and can reduce the financial burden at the time of opening each new Cinch I.T. franchise. However, it's important to note that the development fee is non-refundable, regardless of whether the franchisee actually opens all the Cinch I.T. Franchised Businesses they are obligated to open in the Development Area.

This type of credit for development fees is a fairly common practice in multi-unit franchising. It incentivizes developers to commit to opening multiple locations and helps the franchisor secure commitments for future growth. Prospective Cinch I.T. franchisees should carefully consider the development schedule and their ability to meet the opening obligations, as the non-refundable nature of the development fee represents a financial risk if they fail to develop all the agreed-upon locations.
