What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Cilantro Taco Grill's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, each franchised business will offer dine-in and take-out services. After a Cilantro Taco Grill location has been in operation for at least 3 months, franchisees may offer catering and delivery services from the franchised business, but this requires prior written approval from Cilantro Taco Grill. These services will be offered under the "Cilantro Taco Grill" Marks, using the franchisor's operating procedures and standards within a protected territory from a single location. The franchised businesses are generally located in high traffic locations, including strip mall complexes, shopping malls, lifestyle centers and free-standing locations.
For a prospective franchisee, this means the initial business model focuses on traditional restaurant services. The additional revenue streams of catering and delivery are available, but not immediately. The franchisee must first establish the dine-in and take-out business for a minimum of 3 months and then seek approval to expand services. This phased approach allows franchisees to master the core operations before adding complexity.
The requirement for written approval before offering catering and delivery services gives Cilantro Taco Grill control over brand consistency and service quality. It also allows them to assess whether a franchisee is ready to handle the operational demands of these additional services. Franchisees should inquire about the criteria used to evaluate these requests and what support Cilantro Taco Grill provides to help franchisees successfully launch catering and delivery services.
It is common in the restaurant franchise industry to offer a combination of dine-in, take-out, delivery, and catering services. However, the specific rollout and approval processes can vary significantly between franchisors. Prospective Cilantro Taco Grill franchisees should carefully consider these requirements and factor them into their business plan and financial projections.
