What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Cilantro Taco Grill's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee is responsible for adapting the franchisor's specifications for construction and obtaining the necessary permits. Cilantro Taco Grill will provide the franchisee with their current specifications for the layout, design, appearance, and signage for the Cilantro Taco Grill outlet. However, it is the franchisee's responsibility, along with their architect and contractor, to adapt these specifications to the specific construction of their premises and to secure all required permits.
This means that prospective franchisees need to factor in the costs and time associated with hiring an architect and contractor to adapt the franchisor's standard plans to their chosen location. They also need to account for the time and effort involved in obtaining the necessary permits, which can vary depending on local regulations and requirements. This responsibility places the onus on the franchisee to ensure that the construction of their Cilantro Taco Grill location adheres to all local building codes and regulations.
Cilantro Taco Grill does not adapt plans or obtain permits for the franchisee. However, Cilantro Taco Grill retains the discretion to require franchisees to use designated architects and/or contractors for site development and sign installation. This could potentially streamline the process and ensure compliance with Cilantro Taco Grill's standards, but it may also limit the franchisee's choice of service providers and potentially increase costs.
