You may not use our Principal Mark or other trademarks for any other business, and you may not conduct any other business from your Franchised Business location. You cannot engage in any other business (other than an additional Cilantro Taco Grill outlet) that competes with your Franchised Business, with us or our affiliates, or with Cilantro Taco Grill outlets owned by other franchisees, whether such business is inside or outside of the Territory.

What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to the 2024 Cilantro Taco Grill Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee is explicitly prohibited from using the Cilantro Taco Grill Principal Mark or other trademarks for any business other than their franchised Cilantro Taco Grill location. Furthermore, franchisees cannot operate any other business from the Cilantro Taco Grill franchise location. The only exception to this is if a franchisee owns an additional Cilantro Taco Grill outlet.
This restriction ensures that the Cilantro Taco Grill brand remains exclusive to authorized franchisees and that the brand's reputation is not diluted by association with other ventures. It also prevents confusion among customers, who might otherwise associate unrelated businesses with the Cilantro Taco Grill brand. This is a fairly standard clause in franchise agreements, as franchisors need to protect their trademarks and brand identity.
The franchise agreement also states that a franchisee must identify themselves as the owner of the franchised business and as an independent Cilantro Taco Grill franchisee in conjunction with any use of the intellectual property. This includes uses on invoices, order forms, receipts, and contracts, as well as the display of a notice in a conspicuous location on the premises of the franchised business. This further reinforces the separation between the franchisor and franchisee, clarifying that the franchisee is an independent entity operating under the Cilantro Taco Grill brand.
These stipulations are designed to protect the integrity of the Cilantro Taco Grill brand and maintain consistency across all franchise locations. Prospective franchisees should carefully consider these restrictions and ensure they align with their business goals before investing in a Cilantro Taco Grill franchise.
