You may not use our Principal Mark or other trademarks for any other business, and you may not conduct any other business from your Franchised Business location. What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to the 2024 Cilantro Taco Grill Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are restricted from engaging in other businesses that compete with the Cilantro Taco Grill franchise. Specifically, a franchisee cannot operate any other business from the franchised location, nor can they engage in any other business that competes with the Cilantro Taco Grill franchise, the franchisor, its affiliates, or other Cilantro Taco Grill outlets. This restriction applies whether the competing business is located inside or outside of the franchisee's designated territory. The only exception to this rule is that a franchisee is allowed to own and operate additional Cilantro Taco Grill outlets.
This restriction is a standard practice in franchising, designed to protect the brand and prevent conflicts of interest. By preventing franchisees from operating competing businesses, Cilantro Taco Grill aims to ensure that franchisees focus their efforts on growing their Cilantro Taco Grill business and upholding the brand's standards. This also prevents franchisees from using knowledge and resources gained from the Cilantro Taco Grill system to benefit a competing business.
This non-compete clause is in place to protect the Cilantro Taco Grill system, the franchisor, and other franchisees. Prospective franchisees should carefully consider this restriction and ensure they are fully committed to the Cilantro Taco Grill business model before investing in a franchise. Franchisees should also seek legal counsel to fully understand the implications of this restriction and how it may affect their future business endeavors.
