What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Cicis Franchise Disclosure Document, Cicis retains the right to add to, modify, and discontinue any Marks that a franchisee uses to identify their restaurant or any goods or services offered. The franchisee is obligated, at their own expense, to comply with Cicis's directions regarding these changes. This means Cicis has broad discretion to change its branding and image, and franchisees must adapt accordingly.
This provision allows Cicis to maintain a consistent brand image and adapt to changing market conditions. For a franchisee, this means they must be prepared to invest in rebranding or updating signage and marketing materials as directed by Cicis. Failure to comply with these directives could result in a breach of the franchise agreement.
While Cicis has the right to modify or discontinue Marks, franchisees maintain the right and sole responsibility for the day-to-day management and operation of their Restaurant and the implementation and maintenance of System Standards at their Restaurant. System Standards may regulate any aspect of the operation and maintenance of your Restaurant, including, but not limited to, the use and display of the Marks.
