What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Cicis's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, an initial training fee is not charged for the first two Cicis restaurants a franchisee or their affiliates develop. However, for the third and each subsequent Cicis restaurant, Cicis may require the franchisee and their personnel to attend a training program. This decision is based on the franchisee's operating history and Cicis's assessment of their ability to train employees.

If Cicis determines that training is necessary for the third or any subsequent restaurant, the franchisee will be required to pay an initial training fee of $2,500. This fee is due in a lump sum upon the execution of the Franchise Agreement. This policy incentivizes franchisees to maintain a high standard of operation and training within their organization, as demonstrated by their performance in the first two restaurants.

This type of conditional training fee is not uncommon in franchising. Franchisors often waive training fees for experienced franchisees to encourage expansion while ensuring that all franchisees, especially those new to the system or struggling with operations, receive adequate training. The $2,500 fee is relatively modest compared to the overall investment in a Cicis franchise, but it is an important consideration for franchisees planning to develop multiple locations.
