What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Cicis Franchise Disclosure Document, Cicis will assign a trade name to the franchisee's restaurant. The franchisee must use this assigned trade name and comply with all applicable laws related to filing trade name or fictitious name registrations. Additionally, the franchisee is required to execute any documents Cicis deems necessary to protect the marks or maintain their validity and enforceability.
This means that while franchisees operate under the "Cicis" brand, they may need to register a specific trade name for their individual location as required by local laws. This is a common practice in franchising, allowing the franchisor to maintain brand consistency while ensuring franchisees meet legal requirements at the local level.
Prospective franchisees should be aware of the costs associated with registering a trade name or fictitious name, as these fees are typically the responsibility of the franchisee. Furthermore, franchisees must adhere to Cicis's instructions regarding the use of the trade name and cooperate with any legal documentation required by Cicis to protect its trademarks. Failure to comply with these requirements could result in a breach of the franchise agreement.
It is important for potential franchisees to discuss with Cicis the specific trade name requirements and any associated costs during their due diligence process. Understanding these obligations upfront will help ensure a smooth and legally compliant operation of their Cicis restaurant.
