What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Cicis's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if the franchise agreement is for the franchisee's first or second restaurant, Cicis will provide instructors and training materials for the initial training program at no additional charge. However, the franchisee is responsible for expenses like travel, lodging, meals, and wages incurred by them or their personnel in connection with any training program, whether initial or subsequent. Cicis retains the right to charge a reasonable fee for any initial training provided to replacement or successor personnel, as well as for personnel of any additional Cicis Restaurant the franchisee establishes.
Specifically, the General Manager and Assistant Managers must complete the initial training program to Cicis's satisfaction no later than 15 days before the restaurant's opening date. Cicis will determine if these candidates have satisfactorily completed the training. If they do not, or if Cicis believes they cannot complete the training satisfactorily, the franchisee must take corrective measures within 30 days. The Managing Owner and the initial Operator must also successfully complete the initial training program within a reasonable time after the franchise agreement is signed and before the opening date.
While Cicis covers the cost of instructors and training materials for the initial training of the first two restaurants, franchisees should be prepared to cover all other related expenses. This includes travel, accommodation, and wages for their personnel. Additionally, franchisees should be aware that Cicis may charge fees for training replacement personnel or for training related to additional restaurants beyond the first two.
