What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Cicis's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Cicis retains the right to solicit customers, advertise, promote sales, and fulfill customer orders, including catering and delivery services, within a franchisee's Development Area. This means that Cicis can directly engage in marketing and sales activities within the area granted to a franchisee.

This reservation of rights extends to marketing and selling products and services authorized for sale at Cicis Restaurants through alternative channels of distribution, such as the Internet, catalog sales, telemarketing, or other direct marketing sales (like grocery stores, kiosks, mail order, Internet merchandise sales and catalogue sales, or through Cicis To Go). Cicis can use its trademarks and commercial symbols for these activities both within and outside the Development Area.

While a franchisee typically expects some level of exclusivity within their territory, Cicis's retained rights allow it to compete directly with its franchisees within their own Development Areas through various marketing and sales channels. This could impact a franchisee's potential revenue and market share. Prospective franchisees should carefully consider the implications of these retained rights and how they might affect their business operations and profitability.
