We have developed and may develop for use in the System certain products which are prepared from confidential recipes and which are our trade secrets.
You must use our proprietary items as we require, and you must purchase such proprietary items from us or from a supplier we require.
You must also purchase from us or from a source we designate for resale certain promotional and other merchandise identifying the System as we require, such as pre-packaged food products and Cicis-branded memorabilia in amounts sufficient to satisfy your customers' demand.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Cicis's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Item 22 discusses contracts related to the franchise agreement. Specifically, section H refers to 'Proprietary Items' and states that franchisees must purchase proprietary items from Cicis or a designated supplier.
This means that as a Cicis franchisee, you are obligated to buy certain products, ingredients, and merchandise either directly from Cicis or from suppliers that Cicis has approved. These proprietary items are often products made from confidential recipes that Cicis considers trade secrets. This requirement ensures consistency across all Cicis locations and helps maintain the brand's standards.
The FDD also mentions that franchisees must purchase promotional and other merchandise identifying the System from Cicis or a designated source for resale. This includes pre-packaged food products and Cicis-branded memorabilia in amounts sufficient to satisfy customer demand. This requirement helps to promote the Cicis brand and ensure that customers have access to branded merchandise.
