What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Cicis's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, other restaurants, food aggregators, and third-party delivery service providers can deliver to customers within a franchisee's protected area. This means that while Cicis grants a protected area, it does not prevent other food businesses from delivering to customers within that area. This could increase competition for Cicis franchisees.
This policy also allows Cicis to utilize third-party delivery services within a franchisee's protected area. The franchisee is also not allowed to sell any products or services sold at their Cicis restaurant through any alternate distribution channels, including the Internet, catalogue sales, supermarkets, convenience stores, or grocery stores.
Cicis also retains significant rights within and outside the protected area, including the right to establish Cicis To Go restaurants anywhere in the world, including within the protected area. They can also offer and sell similar or dissimilar products and services through any channel other than a full-service Cicis Restaurant. This includes Cicis To Go Restaurants, the Internet, or similar electronic mediums. These retained rights could create competition for franchisees even within their protected area.
