What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Cicis Franchise Disclosure Document, any inspection conducted by Cicis does not constitute a guarantee that the inspections comply with building, life safety, environmental, or other codes imposed by any governmental authority. Nor does it imply compliance with acceptable architectural or engineering standards.
This means that while Cicis may perform inspections, it is not responsible for ensuring these inspections meet legal or professional standards. The franchisee cannot rely on Cicis's inspections as a warranty of compliance with any applicable codes or regulations.
Therefore, it is the franchisee's responsibility to ensure that their restaurant complies with all applicable building codes, safety regulations, and architectural or engineering standards, irrespective of any inspections that Cicis may conduct. This could involve hiring independent experts to verify compliance.
