What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Cicis's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to maintain Commercial General Liability Insurance with a per occurrence limit of $1,000,000. This insurance coverage must also include personal injury, advertising injury, completed operations, products liability, and fire damage coverage. Additionally, the policy must have a $2,000,000 general aggregate and a $2,000,000 product aggregate limit, fire legal liability of $50,000, and a premises medical limit of $2,500.
Maintaining this level of insurance coverage is a standard practice in the franchise industry to protect both the franchisee and the franchisor from potential liabilities arising from the operation of the business. The specific coverage amounts and types are determined by Cicis to mitigate risks associated with their restaurants. Franchisees must secure and maintain this insurance coverage before opening their Cicis Restaurant and throughout its operation.
It is important for prospective franchisees to factor in the cost of this insurance coverage when evaluating the overall investment required to start and operate a Cicis franchise. Furthermore, Cicis retains the right to modify the required insurance types and coverage amounts at their discretion, meaning franchisees should stay informed of any changes to these requirements during the term of their Franchise Agreement. Franchisees must obtain coverage from responsible carriers rated "A VII" or better by the A.M. Best Company, Inc. and who are reasonably acceptable to Cicis.
