What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Cicis's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must obtain prior written approval from Cicis before making any alterations or improvements to their restaurant. This requirement extends to changes in design, equipment, signs, interior or exterior decor items, fixtures, or furnishings. The only exception to this rule is if the manuals expressly allow for such changes without approval.
This stipulation ensures that all Cicis restaurants maintain a consistent brand image and adhere to the company's standards. It gives Cicis control over the appearance and functionality of each location, which can impact customer perception and overall brand reputation. Franchisees need to factor in the time and potential costs associated with seeking and obtaining approval for any desired modifications.
Furthermore, Cicis also has the right to request that franchisees make improvements to their Restaurant premises, equipment, game room equipment, signs, interior and exterior decor items, fixtures, furnishings, supplies, and other products and materials to meet the then-current System Standards. These System Standards are detailed in the Manuals provided to the franchisee. The franchisor also determines the content of the manuals and may modify them periodically to reflect changes in System Standards.
