What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Cicis's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a legal dispute exists between Anand Gala and Sunil Dharod, family members who co-own the Cicis Pizza brand following its acquisition. The dispute led to two separate actions: the Gala Action and the Dharod Action, which were later consolidated.

Specifically, Gala filed a motion for partial summary judgment on November 1, 2024. However, the court denied Gala's motion in full. This means that Gala's attempt to have the court rule in his favor on certain issues before trial was unsuccessful.

The consolidated action, involving claims and counterclaims between Gala and Dharod, is scheduled for a jury trial beginning July 7, 2025. The outcome of this trial will determine the resolution of the disputes related to the operation and management of the Cicis Pizza brand following its acquisition.
