What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Cicis's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, notices sent by hand delivery, mail, or carrier are considered delivered at the earlier of three conditions. These conditions are (1) the date of actual delivery, (2) the next business day after prepaid deposit with a nationally recognized carrier for overnight or express delivery, or (3) three business days after prepaid deposit with the US postal service for registered or certified mail.

For a Cicis franchisee, this means that the timing of sending and receiving official notices is clearly defined. If a franchisee sends a notice to Cicis via overnight delivery, it's considered delivered the next business day after deposit. If sent via registered or certified mail, it's considered delivered three business days after deposit. This is important for meeting deadlines or documenting communication.

It's also important to note that if a notice is required to be sent both by email and by hand delivery, mail, or carrier, it is only considered delivered when both methods have been completed. Franchisees should ensure they adhere to these requirements to avoid any miscommunication or missed deadlines.
