What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Cicis's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must maintain their restaurants in a "high degree of sanitation, repair, and condition." Franchisees must also comply with all requirements detailed in the Cicis manuals regarding these matters. This means Cicis has established specific standards and procedures that franchisees must follow to ensure their restaurants meet the brand's expectations for cleanliness, maintenance, and overall condition.

Beyond the general requirement, franchisees cannot make any alterations or improvements to the restaurant's design, equipment, signs, or decor without prior written approval from Cicis. This control allows Cicis to maintain uniformity across all locations and protect its brand image. Franchisees are also obligated to make improvements to their premises, equipment, and other materials to meet the current System Standards upon Cicis's request.

These stipulations highlight the importance Cicis places on maintaining consistent standards across all franchise locations. For a prospective franchisee, this means they must be prepared to invest in regular maintenance and upgrades to keep their restaurant in compliance with Cicis's standards. It also means they will have limited autonomy in making changes to the restaurant's design or appearance without franchisor approval. Failing to adhere to these standards could result in penalties or even termination of the franchise agreement.
