What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Cicis's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if Cicis requests improvements to the restaurant, this includes signs. Cicis can request that franchisees make improvements to the restaurant premises, equipment (including computer hardware and software), game room equipment, signs, interior and exterior decor items, fixtures, furnishings, supplies, and other products and materials required for the operation of the Restaurant, to Cicis's then current System Standards.
This means that Cicis franchisees must be prepared to invest in upgrades and changes to maintain a consistent brand image and customer experience. These required improvements can encompass a wide range of elements, from the physical structure and equipment to the signage and décor.
The franchisee is responsible for covering the costs associated with these improvements and modernizations. This obligation helps Cicis maintain a uniform brand image and keep its restaurants up-to-date, but it also represents a potential financial burden for franchisees who must budget for these periodic upgrades. Franchisees should inquire about the typical frequency and estimated costs of these required improvements to better understand the long-term financial implications.
