What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Cicis' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if the relationship between the franchisee and the Managing Owner terminates or materially changes, the franchisee must promptly designate a qualified replacement. The franchisee is required to notify Cicis of any such change within five business days.
Any successor or replacement Managing Owner must complete Cicis' initial training program within a reasonable time frame after their appointment. This ensures that the new Managing Owner is properly trained and qualified to supervise the restaurant's operations according to Cicis' standards.
If Cicis determines that the restaurant is not being supervised by a properly trained and qualified Managing Owner, they will notify the franchisee. The franchisee must then take corrective measures within a reasonable period, not exceeding 60 days from the date of the notice. During this period, the franchisee must also provide interim supervision of the restaurant, which must be approved in writing by Cicis. This ensures continuity of operations and adherence to Cicis' standards while a permanent solution is implemented.
