What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Cicis Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to obtain architectural, engineering, design, and construction services that they deem necessary for their restaurant's construction. Franchisees must also adapt the prototypical architectural and design plans and specifications for the construction of their restaurant that Cicis provides.

However, franchisees must submit these adapted plans to Cicis for approval. The FDD states that no alterations or improvements or changes of any kind in design, equipment, signs, interior or exterior decor items, fixtures, or furnishings will be made in or about your Restaurant or its premises without Cicis's prior written approval.

This means that if Cicis does not approve the franchisee's adapted architectural and design plans, the franchisee will need to revise and resubmit the plans until they meet Cicis's standards. This approval process ensures that all Cicis restaurants maintain a consistent brand image and meet the company's operational standards. Franchisees should factor in the time and potential costs associated with multiple revisions when planning their restaurant's construction.
