What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Cicis's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee cannot use any architectural and design plans for their restaurant until Cicis has given written approval. The franchisee is responsible for adapting the prototypical architectural and design plans provided by Cicis as necessary for the construction of their restaurant and submitting these adapted plans for review and approval.
If Cicis objects to any of the submitted plans, they will provide a detailed list of required changes to make the plans acceptable. The franchisee must then submit revised plans incorporating these changes. It is explicitly stated that franchisee may not use any plans until Cicis has approved them in writing. Furthermore, Cicis's silence on the plans does not constitute approval.
This requirement ensures that all Cicis restaurants adhere to a consistent brand standard and design aesthetic. It also allows Cicis to maintain control over the appearance and functionality of its franchise locations. A prospective franchisee should factor in the time required for plan submission, review, and potential revisions when planning their restaurant's construction timeline.
