Does the Cicis franchise agreement include a section for the franchisee's Spouse(s) to provide their Name and Address?
Cicis Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
By signing below, the undersigned spouse of each Guarantor indicated below, acknowledges and consents to the guaranty given herein by his/her spouse. Such consent also serves to bind the assets of the marital estate to Guarantor's performance of this Guaranty. We confirm that a spouse who signs this Guaranty solely in his or her capacity as a spouse (and not as an owner) is signing merely to acknowledge and consent to the execution of the Guaranty by his or her spouse and to bind the assets of the marital estate as described therein and for no other purpose (including, without limitation, to bind the spouse's own separate property).

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Cicis Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchise agreement includes a section for the spouse of each guarantor to acknowledge and consent to the guaranty provided by their spouse. By signing, the spouse agrees to bind the assets of the marital estate to the guarantor's performance. The spouse's signature confirms they are signing solely to acknowledge the guaranty execution by their spouse and to bind the marital estate assets, not to bind their separate property. While the document mentions the spouse's acknowledgement and consent, it does not explicitly state that the spouse must provide their name and address.
This requirement ensures that both parties in a marriage are aware of and agree to the financial obligations undertaken by the franchisee, particularly when those obligations could impact shared assets. This is a common practice in franchising to protect the franchisor's interests and ensure all possible assets are available should the franchisee default.
Prospective Cicis franchisees should clarify with Cicis whether providing the spouse's name and address is a standard part of the acknowledgement process, even if not explicitly stated in the quoted section. Understanding the full extent of spousal obligations and required information is crucial before entering into the franchise agreement.
