What This Means (2025 FDD)
Based on the 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Cicis utilizes a franchise agreement that grants the franchisee the right and obligation to develop, own, and operate a Cicis restaurant at a specific location. The agreement outlines the terms and conditions under which the franchisee can use the Cicis system and marks. The agreement does not grant any exclusivity with respect to the Designated Area.
The franchisee is responsible for finding a location within a designated area that meets Cicis's site criteria and for submitting the necessary information for assessment. Cicis may conduct on-site inspections of the proposed location, and the franchisee may be required to reimburse Cicis for the costs associated with these inspections. The location, type of Cicis restaurant, and protected area must be agreed upon by both parties, and this agreement is documented in an attachment to the franchise agreement.
The franchise agreement also includes provisions regarding the lease of the location, requiring the franchisee to secure possession of the location within a specified timeframe and to obtain Cicis's approval of the lease or contract of sale. Additionally, the agreement outlines the franchisee's obligations to maintain uniformity among Cicis restaurants and to comply with Cicis's standards, specifications, policies, and procedures. The agreement also contains restrictions regarding the franchisee's activities after the termination or transfer of the agreement, including non-compete clauses within specific areas.
