What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Cicis's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee chooses to pursue a proposed location and Cicis determines that another on-site inspection is appropriate, the franchisee must pay an inspection fee. This fee is estimated to range from $200 to $1,500, with the specific amount depending on the distance of the location from Cicis's corporate headquarters. This fee is due upon delivery of Cicis's invoice.

It is important to note that Cicis is not required to conduct on-site inspections. The first inspection of a proposed location is free, but any subsequent inspections will incur the stated fee. This fee covers Cicis's costs for evaluating the suitability of the proposed site beyond the initial assessment.

Prospective franchisees should factor this potential cost into their initial budget when evaluating different locations. The distance from Cicis's headquarters will directly impact this fee, so franchisees might consider this when choosing a location. Understanding the criteria Cicis uses to determine the need for a second inspection can also help franchisees avoid this additional cost by ensuring the location meets Cicis's standards from the outset.
