What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Cicis's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, notices sent via email are considered delivered when sent. For notices delivered by hand, mail, or carrier, delivery is considered to occur at the earliest of actual delivery, the next business day after deposit with a nationally recognized overnight carrier, or three business days after deposit with the U.S. Postal Service for registered or certified mail.
For Cicis franchisees, this means that email communication is the quickest and most reliable method for receiving important notices from the company. Franchisees should ensure that their official system email address (ending in "@cicispizza.com" during the term of the agreement) is regularly monitored, as Cicis will consider notices delivered as soon as they are sent. After the agreement expires or terminates, Cicis will send notices to the franchisee's last known non-Cicis system email address.
It's important to note that if Cicis requires a notice to be sent both by email and by traditional methods (hand delivery, mail, or carrier), the notice is only considered delivered when both methods have been completed. This dual-method requirement could extend the delivery timeframe and should be considered when time-sensitive actions are required. Franchisees should maintain accurate records of all notices received, regardless of the delivery method, to ensure compliance with the franchise agreement.
