What determines whether a Cicis Restaurant will be developed as a Cicis Buffet Restaurant or a Cicis To Go Restaurant?
Cicis Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
To purchase a franchise for a Cicis Restaurant, you must sign a franchise agreement and related agreements, on our standard forms (together, a "Franchise Agreement"). Our current form of Franchise Agreement is attached to this Disclosure Document as Exhibit B. You and we will agree on whether your Cicis Restaurant will be developed as a Cicis Buffet Restaurant or a Cicis To Go Restaurant, typically based on the location and size of the premises at which the restaurant will be developed. Each Cicis Restaurant is governed by a separate Franchise Agreement.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Cicis's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the decision to develop a Cicis Restaurant as either a Cicis Buffet Restaurant or a Cicis To Go Restaurant is a mutual agreement between the franchisee and Cicis. This determination is typically based on the location and size of the premises where the restaurant will be situated. This suggests that Cicis considers factors such as the potential customer base, accessibility, and physical space when deciding on the restaurant format.
The distinction between the two formats lies primarily in their service models. Cicis Buffet Restaurants offer an unlimited buffet along with an ala carte menu, catering to dine-in customers with pizza, pastas, salads, and desserts. They also provide catering, carry-out, and online delivery services. Cicis To Go Restaurants, on the other hand, focus on take-out, catering, and delivery, offering a similar menu without the unlimited buffet. These locations may have limited or no on-premises seating, depending on their size and location.
For a prospective franchisee, this means that the type of Cicis Restaurant they operate will depend on the real estate they secure and Cicis's assessment of the location's suitability for a buffet versus a primarily take-out and delivery model. This decision will be formalized in the Franchise Agreement, with each restaurant governed by a separate agreement. Franchisees should carefully consider the implications of each format, including the required space, investment costs, and operational demands, before making a final decision with Cicis.
