What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Cicis's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if the relationship between a franchisee and their Managing Owner terminates or materially changes, the franchisee must notify Cicis within five business days of the change. The franchisee is also responsible for promptly designating a qualified replacement.
Any successor or replacement Managing Owner must complete Cicis's initial training program within a reasonable timeframe after their appointment. This ensures that the replacement is adequately prepared to manage the restaurant according to Cicis's standards.
If Cicis determines that the restaurant is not being supervised by a properly trained and qualified Managing Owner, they will notify the franchisee. The franchisee must then take corrective measures within a reasonable period, not exceeding 60 days from the notice date. During this time, the franchisee must also provide interim supervision of the restaurant, as approved by Cicis. This requirement ensures continuity of operations and adherence to Cicis's standards even during periods of transition.
