Why were some Cicis Buffet Restaurants excluded from the Data Set used in Item 19?
Cicis Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
There were 245 franchised Cicis Buffet Restaurants in operation as of the end of the Measurement Period. For purposes of this Item 19, we have excluded 3 Cicis Buffet Restaurants because despite our repeated requests, they did not provide us with, and for which we are not able to obtain, profit and loss information or an income statement and 2 Cicis Buffet Restaurants that are owned or controlled by our President, Jeff Hetsel. The information below is based on the results of the remaining 240 franchised Cicis Buffet Restaurants (the "Data Set").

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Cicis's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the financial performance data presented in Item 19 is based on a specific data set of franchised Cicis Buffet Restaurants. This data set covers the period from January 1, 2024, through December 31, 2024, which aligns with Cicis's 2024 fiscal year. It's important to note that Cicis To-Go Restaurants were excluded from this data set due to significant operational differences related to size and location compared to the buffet restaurants.
Out of 245 franchised Cicis Buffet Restaurants in operation at the end of the measurement period, not all were included in the data set used for Item 19. Specifically, 3 Cicis Buffet Restaurants were excluded because they did not provide profit and loss information or an income statement, despite repeated requests from Cicis. Additionally, 2 Cicis Buffet Restaurants owned or controlled by Cicis's President, Jeff Hetsel, were also excluded from the data set. As a result, the financial performance data is based on the remaining 240 franchised Cicis Buffet Restaurants.
For a prospective franchisee, this means that the financial performance data presented is based on a subset of franchised locations that met specific criteria, primarily the availability of financial records. The exclusion of certain restaurants due to missing data or ownership connections is a common practice to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the financial performance representations. A potential franchisee should consider that the data reflects the performance of these 240 restaurants and may not fully represent the potential performance of all Cicis locations.
