What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Christies International Real Estate FDD, Christies International Real Estate determines the advertising methods, media, scope, content, and terms for its advertising, marketing, promotional, and public relations campaigns and programs. This means franchisees have limited control over the advertising strategies used to promote the brand.
If Christies International Real Estate begins collecting an Advertising Fund Fee, it will manage the Advertising Fund, using it for general promotion of the brand. These expenses can include operating a call center, market research, customer retention, incentive programs, sales development, media planning and buying, creating advertising materials, agency fees, public relations, technology investments, and digital marketing. Up to 10% of the Advertising Fund can be used to solicit new franchisees.
Christies International Real Estate does not guarantee that individual franchisees will directly benefit from advertising in their local market. Franchisees are required to adhere to the Operations Manual and Brand Guidelines for all local advertising and promotions. Christies International Real Estate retains the right to require franchisees to remove any marketing materials that do not comply with these guidelines or any laws. This ensures brand consistency but also limits the franchisee's autonomy in local marketing efforts.
While franchisees can develop their own marketing materials, Christies International Real Estate has the authority to approve or disapprove these materials. This oversight ensures that all advertising aligns with the brand's standards and legal requirements, but it also means franchisees must get approval before implementing their own marketing ideas.
