What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Christian Brothers Automotive Franchise Disclosure Document, the total transfer fee is $30,000. This fee is imposed by and payable to Christian Brothers Automotive and is non-refundable.
The transfer fee is paid in two installments. The first installment of $10,000 is due upon Christian Brothers Automotive's approval of the term sheet or letter of intent signed by the franchisee and the buyer. The remaining balance of $20,000 is due upon the closing of the sale.
It is important to note that if a franchisee authorizes Christian Brothers Automotive to find an outside buyer, the franchisee will be responsible for paying Christian Brothers Automotive a transaction fee, which is the greater of 7% of the gross value of the business transaction or $50,000. This transaction fee is in addition to the $30,000 transfer fee.
