What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Chop5 Salad Kitchen's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, after the initial design plans are approved, the franchisee's architect must prepare detailed construction plans. These detailed construction plans must meet specific requirements to gain Chop5 Salad Kitchen's final approval.
Specifically, the construction plans must be consistent with the already-approved initial design plans. They must also satisfy all required standards and specifications outlined in Chop5 Salad Kitchen's Manual, which contains the brand's operational standards. Furthermore, the plans must comply with all applicable laws, including the Americans with Disabilities Act, building codes, permit and lease requirements, and any other restrictions applicable to the restaurant premises.
Chop5 Salad Kitchen retains the right to review the final construction plans to ensure they align with the company's system standards. Once the construction plans are approved, the franchisee is responsible for constructing and equipping the premises at their own expense, adhering to both the approved plans and the specifications detailed in the Manual. The franchisee is also obligated to purchase or lease and install all equipment, fixtures, signs, and other items that Chop5 Salad Kitchen requires for the restaurant.
In addition to plan requirements, Chop5 Salad Kitchen must approve the architects, engineers, contractors, and other suppliers involved in the restaurant's construction. Throughout the construction, the franchisee must maintain the minimum general liability and property damage insurance coverage as specified in the Manual. These measures ensure that the restaurant's construction aligns with Chop5 Salad Kitchen's brand standards and complies with all legal and safety requirements.
