What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Chop5 Salad Kitchen's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Chop5 Salad Kitchen is not required to provide additional training to franchisees, even if the franchisee requests it. However, Chop5 Salad Kitchen may require the Operating Partner and managers to attend remedial training if the restaurant is not operating in compliance with the Franchise Agreement or the Manual.
If Chop5 Salad Kitchen agrees to provide additional training, it may occur either at the corporate headquarters or at the franchisee's restaurant. Chop5 Salad Kitchen may charge an additional training fee of up to $500 per person per day for additional training requested by the franchisee. If the training occurs at the restaurant, the franchisee must reimburse Chop5 Salad Kitchen for all travel expenses incurred.
This policy is not uncommon in the franchise industry, where franchisors typically outline required training but retain discretion over additional support. Prospective Chop5 Salad Kitchen franchisees should consider the costs associated with potential additional training and factor that into their budget. They should also inquire about the circumstances under which Chop5 Salad Kitchen would approve or deny a request for additional training.
