What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Chop5 Salad Kitchen's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, attendance at periodic conferences held by the company is generally mandatory for franchisees. These conferences are designed to discuss business and operational matters relevant to Chop5 Salad Kitchen restaurants.
However, there are two exceptions where attendance may not be required. First, Chop5 Salad Kitchen may designate attendance as optional. Second, the company may waive a franchisee's obligation to attend if the franchisee can demonstrate good cause for their absence.
Franchisees should also be aware of the financial implications of attending or not attending these conferences. Chop5 Salad Kitchen may charge a conference registration fee of up to $1,000 per person per conference. Even if a franchisee fails to attend a required conference without obtaining a waiver, they are still obligated to pay the conference registration fee and will receive any written materials distributed at the conference. Additionally, franchisees are responsible for all wages and travel expenses incurred by themselves and their personnel when attending these conferences.
