What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to the 2024 Chocolate Bash Franchise Disclosure Document, each franchisee must designate a Principal Executive. This individual is the primary decision-maker for the Chocolate Bash business.
The Principal Executive must have at least a 10% ownership stake in the franchise. While they don't need to manage the day-to-day operations, they must dedicate significant time and attention to the business. This suggests that Chocolate Bash expects the Principal Executive to be actively involved in overseeing the franchise's performance and strategic direction, even if they delegate daily management tasks to someone else.
The Principal Executive is also expected to complete Chocolate Bash's initial training program and any future post-opening training programs. Furthermore, they should make reasonable efforts to attend all required in-person and remote meetings, including regional or national brand conferences, and cannot miss more than three consecutive required meetings. If the Principal Executive's role changes due to death, incapacitation, transfer of interest, or other reasons, the franchisee must promptly appoint a new Principal Executive, subject to Chocolate Bash's approval. These requirements ensure that Chocolate Bash has a consistent point of contact with sufficient authority and commitment to the franchise.
