Chocolate_Bash Franchise · 2024 FDDAnswer from 2024 FDD Document
We issue specifications and standards to you for applicable aspects of the franchise in our Manual and/or in written directives. We may issue new specifications and standards for any aspect of our brand system, or modify existing specifications and standards, at any time by revising our Manual and/or issuing new written directives (which may be communicated to you by any method we choose). We will generally (but are not obligated to) issue new or revised specifications only after thorough testing in our headquarters, in company-owned outlets, and/or a limited market test in multiple units.

What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Chocolate Bash's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Chocolate Bash is not obligated to issue new or revised specifications only after thorough testing. While Chocolate Bash generally conducts testing, it is not a requirement. Chocolate Bash may issue new specifications and standards for any aspect of its brand system or modify existing ones at any time. These changes can be implemented by revising the manual or issuing new written directives, which can be communicated through any method Chocolate Bash chooses.
Chocolate Bash states that it will generally issue new or revised specifications only after thorough testing in its headquarters, in company-owned outlets, and/or a limited market test in multiple units. However, the FDD explicitly states that Chocolate Bash is 'not obligated to' conduct such testing. This gives Chocolate Bash the flexibility to implement changes quickly without extensive testing, which could be beneficial in a rapidly evolving market but also carries the risk of implementing changes that have not been fully vetted.
For a prospective franchisee, this means that changes to the Chocolate Bash system, including required products, procedures, or standards, could occur at any time and without prior testing. While Chocolate Bash typically tests changes, franchisees should be prepared for the possibility of changes being implemented without this step. It would be prudent for a potential franchisee to inquire about the frequency and nature of past specification changes and the typical testing process to better understand how Chocolate Bash manages and implements updates to its system.
