What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to the 2024 Chocolate Bash Franchise Disclosure Document, Chocolate Bash will provide franchisees with recommended procedures for administration, bookkeeping, accounting, and inventory control. While these procedures are initially recommended, Chocolate Bash retains the right to make them mandatory for the entire Chocolate Bash system.
Chocolate Bash also requires franchisees to buy or lease and use a point-of-sale (POS) system and computer system, including Toast POS with required apps, one computer, and QuickBooks or a related bookkeeping system. The estimated cost for these systems ranges from $1,000 to $2,000. These systems are designed to provide management tools, operating systems, and platforms necessary for managing day-to-day business operations, including generating and storing customer contact, financial, and inventory data.
Franchisees are responsible for upgrading or updating these systems when Chocolate Bash determines it is necessary, and there is no contractual limit on the frequency or cost of these required updates. While Chocolate Bash is not obligated to provide ongoing maintenance, repairs, upgrades, or updates, the estimated annual cost for optional or required maintenance, updating, upgrading, or support contracts ranges from $100 to $250 per month, depending on the level of support chosen. Chocolate Bash also requires independent access to the information generated or stored in these systems, including sales, customer data, and reports, with no contractual limitation on their right to access this information.
