What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Chocolate Bash's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Chocolate Bash Franchising, LLC does not have any parent entities. However, Albasha, LLC, an affiliate of Chocolate Bash, has operated a Chocolate Bash location in Newport Beach, California since April 2015 and opened a second location in Los Angeles in July 2018. Some of Chocolate Bash's affiliates provide products or services to Chocolate Bash franchisees.

For a prospective franchisee, this means that while Chocolate Bash Franchising, LLC itself is not part of a larger franchise system, it does have an affiliated company, Albasha, LLC, that has experience operating Chocolate Bash locations. This could be beneficial as Albasha, LLC's operational experience might inform Chocolate Bash Franchising, LLC's franchise support and training programs.

However, it's important to note that the FDD states that some affiliates provide products or services to franchisees. This arrangement could create a potential conflict of interest if franchisees are required or incentivized to purchase from these affiliated suppliers, especially if those suppliers are not the most competitive option in the market. A prospective franchisee should inquire about the nature of these affiliate relationships and whether there are any restrictions or requirements regarding the purchase of goods or services from affiliated companies. Understanding these relationships is crucial for assessing the overall cost and operational flexibility of the franchise.
