What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Chocolate Bash's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees have specific obligations regarding software systems used in their business. Chocolate Bash requires franchisees to upgrade, update, or replace any software as directed by the franchisor. This ensures that all locations are running on the most current and compatible systems, which can help maintain consistency and efficiency across the brand.
In addition to keeping software current, Chocolate Bash franchisees must protect the confidentiality and security of all software systems. Franchisees are also required to adhere to any System Standards related to these systems. This likely includes following specific protocols for data protection, access controls, and security measures to safeguard sensitive information and prevent unauthorized access.
Chocolate Bash also mandates that franchisees provide the franchisor with unlimited access to their point-of-sale (POS) system and other software systems used in the business. This access can be provided through any means designated by Chocolate Bash. This provision enables Chocolate Bash to monitor sales data, track inventory, and ensure compliance with system standards, which can help the franchisor provide better support and oversight to its franchisees.
