What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Chocolate Bash's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, CB Franchising requires franchisees to provide unlimited access to their point of sale (POS) system and other software used in the business. This access can be obtained through any means designated by Chocolate Bash.
This requirement means that Chocolate Bash can monitor sales data, inventory, and other operational information in real-time. This level of access allows Chocolate Bash to ensure compliance with system standards, monitor the franchisee's performance, and potentially provide support or identify areas for improvement. Franchisees must also upgrade, update, or replace any software as required by Chocolate Bash and protect the confidentiality and security of all software systems.
While this level of access provides Chocolate Bash with significant oversight, it also places responsibility on the franchisee to maintain secure systems and comply with all software-related standards. Prospective franchisees should carefully consider the implications of granting this level of access and ensure they are comfortable with the franchisor's ability to monitor their business operations in such a direct manner. It is also important to understand what data is collected, how it is used, and what security measures are in place to protect sensitive information.
