What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Chocolate Bash's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Chocolate Bash will advise franchisees regarding the planning and execution of their market introduction plan. However, the franchisee is responsible for developing a market introduction plan and obtaining Chocolate Bash's approval at least 30 days before the business's projected opening date.
In addition to Chocolate Bash's assistance with the market introduction plan, franchisees must spend at least 4% of gross sales each month on marketing their business after opening. Franchisees may also use their own advertising or marketing material, but it requires Chocolate Bash's approval. Franchisees must submit any proposed advertising or marketing material at least 14 days prior to use. If Chocolate Bash does not respond, the material is deemed rejected.
Chocolate Bash also has the right to require franchisees to participate in a local or regional advertising cooperative. The amount franchisees must contribute to the cooperative will be determined by vote of the members, but not less than 1% of gross sales. Chocolate Bash maintains a website for the Chocolate Bash brand, which will include the franchisee's business information and telephone number.
