What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Chicken Guy's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are responsible for establishing a training program for all employees that meets the standards prescribed by Chicken Guy. This includes training in the operation of the franchised restaurant, human resources, and customer relations. The franchisee must ensure that all employees are suitable, of good character and reputation, and conduct themselves in a competent and courteous manner, aligning with the image and reputation of Chicken Guy. Employees must also comply with the dress attire, personal appearance, and hygiene standards outlined in the manual while on duty.
Prior to opening the restaurant, the franchisee or a certified restaurant manager must train each newly hired team member in restaurant operations. Chicken Guy will not authorize the restaurant to open until an adequate number of employees have successfully completed this training, as determined by Chicken Guy. Franchisees are also required to conduct additional initial and continuing training programs for their employees as Chicken Guy may require from time to time. Chicken Guy may also provide consultation and advice to franchisees regarding employee training.
Chicken Guy retains the right to inspect the franchised restaurant and its operations to ensure compliance with the system standards, which includes the employee training program. If a franchisee operates two or more Chicken Guy restaurants, they may request permission to establish one of their restaurants as a Certified Training Restaurant (CTR) to offer the initial manager training program to their employees. However, Chicken Guy must certify the restaurant as a CTR and may periodically visit the CTR to ensure it continues to meet Chicken Guy's standards.
