What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Chicken Guy's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee has 60 days to prepare and complete drawings and plans for a required modernization after receiving written notice from Chicken Guy. These drawings and plans must be submitted to Chicken Guy for approval before any work begins.
Chicken Guy requires franchisees to modernize their restaurants to maintain a consistent brand image. These modernizations can include structural changes, remodeling, renovations, and modifications to existing equipment. However, these extensive modernizations will not be required more often than every five years.
It is important to note that the franchisee is responsible for the costs associated with these modernizations. Franchisees should factor in potential modernization expenses when evaluating the long-term financial viability of a Chicken Guy franchise. Capital expenses for regular repairs and maintenance are not subject to the same time limitations as modernization requirements.
