What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Chicken Guy's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the initial manager training program is mandatory for all franchisees. The training program is designed to teach the skills required to operate a Chicken Guy restaurant. The length of the training program averages four weeks, but Chicken Guy can adjust the length based on the manager's prior experience and training success.
Chicken Guy offers the training programs periodically throughout the year, scheduling them to be completed before the restaurant opens. Franchisees must cover travel, living, and food expenses for themselves and their employees during training. Chicken Guy reserves the right to dismiss anyone from the program who they believe will not perform acceptably, and the franchisee must provide a replacement within one month.
At least 45 days before opening, Chicken Guy will provide the initial manager training program to the franchisee (or their Operating Principal) and up to two designated managers. The training includes classroom instruction and on-the-job training at a company-operated Chicken Guy restaurant. Upon completing the training and passing an exam, participants receive a "Certificate of Completion" and are certified to operate the restaurant. Chicken Guy requires at least one certified manager per restaurant and will not authorize the restaurant to open until an adequate number of managers have completed the training. After opening, any employee assuming a management position must attend the training within 30 days and become certified.
